Introducing Mogrify – Sarah

Ever wanted to be a fly-on-the-wall of the Mogrify office? Now’s your chance. Mostly we’ve got our heads down working hard, but our blog series – Introducing Mogrify – gives us a chance to get up from our desks, answer a few questions and share a bit about what makes us tick.

Today we meet:

  • Sarah Reynolds, Senior Marketing Manager

What is your role at Mogrify?

I am a Senior Marketing Manager. I’m responsible for developing customers’ marketing strategy and overseeing the delivery elements. I also ensure any changes to customers’ needs and goals are reflected in the strategy on an ongoing basis.

What do you do on a day-to-day basis?

I spend a lot of time talking with our customers, liaising with the Mogrify delivery team and applying the strategy into the creation of marketing assets myself. I’m also tasked with perfecting the marketing automation side of our customers’ marketing strategies which includes identifying group learning, best practice and ways customers can better use the systems.

What Mogrify value do you align with the most?

Be commercial. I enjoy understanding the longer-play and it excites me to think about future possibilities. So, I try to have that commercial head when having conversations with customers.

What is your favourite thing about working at Mogrify?

Just one thing? It’s been a big learning experience getting under the skin of tech companies and I get lots of opportunities to hone my skills. The team are all lovely and it’s a joy to work on the beautiful Central Coast.

What made you choose Mogrify?

When I came to the interview, Mogrify seemed to be a company set up for the future but still really open to learning new ways of working. The team has their finger on the pulse of what’s next and that’s a rare find. I’d also just finished a mini marketing MBA, so it was a great opportunity to pick up what I learned from that and go back to my marketing roots from a decade in media and advertising.

What makes you get out of bed every day?

I get up most mornings to go to F45 which I love – it really sets me up and energises me for the day ahead.

How would you describe Mogrify?

Collaborative, progressive, curious, welcoming. Like a weird little family of talented over-achievers.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I love hanging out with my daughter; she’s two and half and super funny. I also like sewing – I go to the op-shops and buy things that I can then tailor myself. It gives me my ‘new clothes buzz’, nurtures my creative side and appeases the environmentalist in me.

What do you think your expertise is?

I’m definitely a strategic thinker and I am very analytical. I tend to be quite considered, weigh up options and think ahead. This means I can look away from the day-to-day to see the bigger picture and how to take businesses into the future. I also add a realistic lens to some of the creative ideas.

Tell us about your family

I live with my husband, daughter and a dog called Willis. The rest of my family (Mum, Dad and my two sisters) are in England. My mum had never been on a plane then when I had my daughter, she got on a plane all by herself on her 65th birthday to fly over here to meet her. She’s my hero.

What is something no one at Mogrify knows about you?

They know a lot! But they don’t know I sponsor a little girl in Africa and have done for five or six years. She’s eight, lives in Malawi and her name is Memory. The money goes to help her and her community and it’s just fabulous to know she’s being looked after and getting an education.

What is one skill you wish you were better at?

Cooking! I just hate it and don’t want to do it. Fortunately, I married a chef.

What is the last movie you saw?

Double Jeopardy. I just fancied a 90s fix.

If you could visit anywhere in the world where would you go?

Right now, I’d definitely go home to Cambridge, England.
