We’re looking for an experienced Strategic B2B Marketer to join our team as we expand our customer base and to help cover a capacity gap being created by a maternity leave. This is a step-up role for an experienced agency-side account lead or client-side marketing manager who has strong acumen in:

  • Customer relationships (at a senior, commercial level)
  • Marketing strategy, planning and budgeting
  • Commercial know-how
  • Clear communication

We are looking for a Central Coast-based person and think it would suit, amongst others:

  • someone that has previously been commuting to Sydney from the Central Coast who wants to reclaim their time
  • someone who really enjoys, and is good at, managing customer relationships
  • someone who naturally thinks bigger picture, who enjoys thinking outside of the day-to-day
  • a B2B marketing manager at an IT or professional services company, or an account manager with agency experience across B2B clients
  • As a rule of thumb, we do not consider applications from non-Central Coast based candidates

It’s crucial to state upfront that in our experience, people find this role a significant step up in terms of strategic, commercial and relationship skills. There is a difference between someone that has good relationships with customers to someone that can command genuine respect with them. This role requires the latter.

You’ll start on a part-time basis working 3-4 days a week depending on your availability. Mogrify deliberately operates a 4-day week in order to maintain work-life balance of our team.

You’ll quickly be introduced to senior people at our customers and take an active role in driving the strategic relationship with them – advising on how they should direct marketing spend, within the framework of our delivery model, to maximise the effectiveness of their marketing. You’ll do this under the guidance of one of our directors and other people in our team.

You’ll need to be comfortable with technical and, (sometimes!) dry, subject matter – our customers are in technical industries such as IT, Telecommunications and Finance.

We need someone that thrives in a busy environment and is excellent at managing their time and multiple projects at once. You’ll need to be self-sufficient – able to drive project outcomes without relying too heavily on other team members. You’ll need to develop gravitas with our customers and your opinion will matter to them. Clear communication and customer expectation management is a must. You must know the difference between Strategic and Tactical thinking and be fine with both.

You should have a solid working knowledge of the different specialist knowledge sets involved in marketing, even if you haven’t practised them all yourself. These include; strategy, project management, campaign management, social media, websites, SEO, design, content marketing, digital advertising, email marketing, and MarTech such as marketing automation platforms.

The primary part of your role will involve these key elements:

  • Customer relationships – do you have the experience to spot the banana skins before we get to them?
  • Planning out customer marketing strategies
  • Overseeing execution of the marketing strategy including, writing briefs, reviewing work, managing the budget, measurement and optimisation
  • Customer budget management
  • Customer reporting on what’s working / what isn’t
  • Accountability for day-to-day customer relationships and account management, running customer WIPs and customer troubleshooting.

Whilst we’re marketers, Mogrify prides itself on being commercially-savvy and understanding business more holistically than just the marketing department. We and our customers need someone that is not intimidated by a customers’ job title and can talk in non-marketing language to them.
  2. Social skills: We want to have banter with each other and enjoy each other’s company – if you’re not afraid to tell a funny story from time to time then you’ll fit in just fine!
